Throw back a bottle of beer.Well when in Rome, do as the Romans do and freak out for a solid week if the home team wins, apparently.Rome won the all-Italy contest in the worlds favorite sport…. It was pretty much constant freakout for the first couple of days and then at night nonstop horn honking until I left town.

Visiting various fountains in Rome. These marvels of ancient craftsmanship (and modern maintenance to keep them functioning and in one piece) are quite amazing.If I’m not mistaken, Cleopatra’s needle is also featured in one of the fountains.

I said something like “I wonder how many people went hungry to put yet another cross in Rome.
The Train from Prague

After a couple days in Prague, I left for some solo travel.On the way from Prague to Rome via Munchen, a bunch of deutchers were harassing American girls by singing them german songs and getting drunk.
Euro-trip 2001 Day one

I’ve been digging around and found my home movies and found that I have a fair amount of DV video.Here’s the first day after a day or so of travel, I spent a day in Prague with my mother before we attended the wedding of some family that I do not see very frequently…. Prague was one of the few cities that was not devastated in world war two.I was going through a “talk like a muppet gameshow host” phase at the time, I think, based on my silly commentary.
